Just played my Dreamcast and man it brought ack so many memories. I know it will never happen but it would be so cool if Sega made a next gen console. They have so many great IPs, plus the 2K sports games.

Sega really went all out with the Dreamcast, it had arguably the best line up of games in it's first year of any console.

The little console that couldn't offered one of the best gaming experiences for it's time.

And brought Phantasy Star Online into the world.

It's sad Peter Moore fricked Sega, than went to work for Microsoft. If Peter Moore was never the president of Sega they would still be making consoles today.

Sega of Japan fricked them over with the Saturn.

Sega of Japan fricked Sega on almost all of their consloles, but Peter Moore specifically ended the Dreamcast and then fired heaps of Sega employees, Sega was actually working on another console to be a successor to the Dreamcast but Moore put a stop to it and got them out of the hardware business in 2002. Directly after he left Sega and became president for Microsoft.

I love sega and had the genesis/32x/segaCD/Saturn/dreamcast (snatcher ftw) but the dreamcast was the double edged sword of the downfall of sega in the hardware business, it was an amazing machine with amazing IPs (shenmue anyone?) but it came at a bad time , CD burners weren't quite in full force yet so they put literally no copy protection on it.

Want a game your bro just spent $50 on? Easy, just burn a copy and slap it in your dreamcast and turn it on.

Seriously I'm sure the guy who passed on the extra dev cost to employ basic copy protection on that machine is living under an overpass somewhere in japan

I use to buy full dreamcast games like this for $5 online back in the early 2000s.

I always found SEGA's biggest drawback was their controllers. Dreamcast and Genesis had fantastic games (especially Genesis), but the controllers really held them back. Genesis controllers would often stop working after just a few uses. It got aggravating very quickly.

Eh the Genesis controller was all right but the SNES controller was a lot better. Now the Dreamcast controller was perfect. I still think the Sega Dreamcast controller feels the best in my hands than any other controller out there. It was wayyyy ahead of it's time. There is a reason Microsoft copied the Dreacast's controller
