Anybody here have one of these?

Thinking about buying one. These things are expensive. Are they really worth the money?

Not worth it for Dupure. Refills expensive as hell and the company is a joke. Got to Home Depot and find one and install yourself.

Their system came free with our house and the sales guy tried to upgrade me. This guy was a tool and when I asked about the cost of refills it was more then the system. I took the free one and 1 month later had Dupure calling for refills almost every day. I'm in the Houston area so when I started doing some digging there was too much BS in it. Went to Home Depot got a filter system and replaced theirs. Water taste decent.

Ok, wife made an appointment with Dupure and they came over our house. He was trying to sale us a $4,000 unit. The reverse osmosis water was his main selling point and the wife wants this now. Seems pricey though. Good thing is if we move the unit can come with us.

The water softener unit we found at Sears was $900 I think. Big difference in price.

Box store systems do not last more than 3-5 years. Find a water treatment company that uses Clack valves. These units can be serviced by most DIY individuals and the parts are not too costly. Take the time to do your home work before even thinking about buying some box store or a Dupure system. Google Clack valves and read all about them.
