Really good movie that is worth a watch. I thought it would be just a kung fu type movie and got something a lot more.

Yeah it was great. I'm a big fan of Takashi Miike and this is one of his best.

Thought it was good not great. Last battle scene drug on for far too long. God I feel like a pussy for writing that.

It dragged until the end. The battle scene was just epic. The Lord they are trying to kill might be one of the most sadistic, evil guys ever in a movie.

I have a question about the guy they met in the woods, Kotaka I think. Was he some kind of God or spirit? He seemed to die a couple of times during the battle. Obviously didn't die after taking a sword to the throat.

Yes. I think if you listen close when they first meet him one of the guys asks if he is a tengu or yokai. They are spirit type creatures from Japanese folklore.
