New Indian President Modi is not a big Muslim fan so we denied his visa???

Modi is a pro business leader and, I believe, a friend to the United States. When he was "governor" of 60 million people there were anti Muslim riots and 1,000 Muslims were killed in his jurisdiction. He was cleared of any fault by an Indian grand jury but we still rushed to judgement and denied his visa. Why in the hell would we do such a thing and will that strain our relationship with India now that he is president?

You do realize that this occurred in 2005 when there was still a cloud over his head over the riots. His involvement is still hotly debated and the Special Investigation Team that cleared him had about as much credibility as the Warren Commission.

I would imagine so. She became Sec of State in Jan of 2005.
