Cal bill limits full contact
Will this affect the future recruiting opportunity for Cali H.S. football players?
Will it spread to other states?

The California bill limits drills involving game-speed tackling to 90-minute sessions twice a week, while prohibiting such full-contact drills in the offseason. It also applies to private and charter schools.

Depends on what they define as off season. If it's two-a-days then it's a stupid law but if it's spring ball who cares.

did you read the article?
It said it was already being followed so it doesn't change anything

Cooley responded that his bill only limits certain types of practice and that Texas has even stricter rules. That state, the setting for the popular television drama "Friday Night Lights," allows just one 90-minute full-contact session a week.
shite, can't recruit Cali or texas

First of all, most high schools will not be tackling and hitting live more than twice a week during the season anyway. Secondly, most high school athletic associations don't allow off-season full contact drills except for the designated spring practice.
Lastly, California is such a pansy state. Those adults are seriously messed up in the head with their constant need to legislate.

yep, I know schools are voluntarily doing it and Texas as well.
But it's all fairly recent.
I'm interested to see if kids from parts of the country with old school contact begin to separate themselves from kids in the higher protection areas in terms of performance and toughness.

But not interested in what happens with injuries bc why should people care about that.

Pure speculation on your part.

what is pure speculation? Less contact leading to less injuries?

That I'm not interested.
It looks like my assumption is wrong that it is common for schools to do more full contact that what is in the bill.
From some of the comments it looks like that's fairly standard anyway.
So now it looks like politicians are trying to cure a problem that really doesn't exist anyway.

How about less concerned with injuries than does more contact in practice make "tougher" players?
