Developers definitely appear to have an easier time optimizing on the PS4's slightly more powerful hardware, so freeing up that dedicated Kinect power could help Microsoft minimize the “Xbox One is underpowered” headlines. As I’ve said before, I think that those sort of specs aren’t the biggest factors in a mass market sense, but they’re very important to core gamers.

Equal footing with PS4 or greater once developers learn how develop with it?

That is actually a horrible idea.

So what ? Are they going to sell games that require me to unplug the Kinect ?

Talk about a backlash. Surely they aren't that stupid.

Nope, PS4 still has superior hardware.

Almost.

Approximately 10% of the One's GPU is reserved for GPGPU functions for Kinect, as well as various other UI features.

If developers program games to take advantage of these resources, then Kinect functionality and other features (such as snapping apps) would be disabled during the gaming session.

Snapping apps isn't going anywhere.

10% of the GPU resources on the XBO are reserved for GPGPU processing for the Kinect and snap functionality. If Microsoft is truly insistent on removing the 10% GPU reservation, then snap mode during a gaming session likely won't be possible.

This is getting absurd, soo one version of xbox will be better or my xbox will be as good as my ps4 once I unplug the kinect

No.

I'm assuming that in some parts of the game that aren't resource intensive you'll be able to (like lobbies and menus) but once maps start loading, the game will kill the app snap

Kinect =/= Snap or the rest of the UI

Titanfall has zero kinect functionality, but you can still use snap.

Snap is how you open your party lobby.

everyone involved with the xbone launch and it's day to day operations should be shite canned.

talk about shitting the bed, when they had ALL of the momentum going into E3, then the destruction that ensued.

And we really don't know how many XBONE's have been actually sold. We only know how many have been shipped to stores.

They sort of have been. Microsoft has a new CEO and Xbox now has someone new running it.
