drop it off?

Depends. If it's a cheap watch, it doesn't matter. But if it is a quality piece, then it needs to be pressure-sealed.

I think you can go into any Wal-Mart and they'll replace it while you wait.

just like an $80 sports watch. i was actually wondering if i have small enough tools to do it.

Its cheaper for you to get the tools to do it. It's handy to keep those little watch screwdrivers and spring tools at home. Especially if you have a few watches.
ETA: They are usually sold in sets like "Watch Battery Change Kit" or something like that.

Most of my watches are either mechanical, kinetic, or solar powered. You poors and your batteries...

A watch with a battery... classic.
Does it have a calculator too?

Your downvote tells me you were in Walmart yesterday.

ive actually never owned a watch long enough to kill the battery. sort of impressed with myself.

I've been needing to change the battery in mine as well for a while now, but haven't ever felt like doing it. Plus, I rarely wear a watch so it hasn't bothered me.
