My credit card info got stolen last week. They charged to the ramada inn and to fry electronics. Bank notified me and I said that the purchases were indeed made by someone else.

I got home today and there is a box with 4 shitty t mobile phones in it from fry electronics, allegedly.

What should I do with the alleged phones?

Leave the box on the porch, hide your car, and wait in the bushes.

Why is the word "alleged" being used in this case?

One day my wife received a very nice unordered piece of electronics via UPS. The scary part was she got an "official" looking email from the "electronics company" saying a mistaken charge was made to her card. Please return the merchandise to the following address. She also got a call from the "electronics company" saying to check her email for instructions.
This was all a bit odd to me. I google mapped the address. Needless to say it was an address to a house in a low rent section in a northern state.
I called and cancelled her card. I also called the real electronics company and they arranged a ups pickup at my office.

this happened to me. whoever stole our card must have messed up and shipped all of the stuff to our house. maybe they were planning on stealing it off our porch or something.

We called the vendor (i believe buy.com) and tried to return it but it confused them so we kept it.

The last thing I want is some undesirables running around my neighborhood looking for shitty phones. Why couldn't I luck up and get a tv?

I'll let them know they are here, if they want them, they can come pick them up. Something I didn't order shows up at my doorstop addressed to me, what obligation do I really have to alert somebody to it.

I'm not hardcore about keeping and selling the phones. But I would be more compelled to keep something better.

If you don't take steps to return them where they belong you are no better than the credit card thief.

Is there an order number on the invoice?

I imagine there isn't much you do to the thief. It may be possible to get the email address used to make the order by plugging the order number in the website. You could send them a nasty email. Maybe sign them up for a ghey pron website or 60.

If you can get it post on the OT and let geauxmedic do his detective work.

That's because you're not stupid. Not everyone is afforded that luxury.

For only 39 cents per day you can support one of these less fortunate.

Are you retarded? You called and reported the fraud to your CC company right? Imagine if under some crazy circumstance the CC company decided to investigate who had stolen their money.

They contact the electronics company and ask for the most basic information in this situation, where was the purchase made from, where were the items sent?

If the credit card company is told the items were sent to your home, do you think that bodes well for you?
