So I've got all summer to be a bum and live off that gubment money. I'd like to get into kayak fishing, and I'd like some recs on a few I'm looking at.
Heritage Angler 10' $399 (also in 12' for $100 more)
LINK
Perception Pescador 12' $529
LINK
Among the many others offered at Academy, Basspro, and Cabela's in that price range. Any suggestions? I saw that Pescadors got good reviews on another thread.
A little extra info, I'm a bigger guy at 210 lbs, and I have God-awful balance. Also, I plan on doing my fishing on Colyell creek, launching next to Bayview Restaurant off of HWY 16.
Any tips on what kayaks to look at and how you've got yours rigged up would be greatly appreciated.

Pescador or Ascend FS12T in that price range.
If you want to stand, Ascend.

Call Massey's and ask if they have any demos for sale.
As for how to rig it up, Boats and Hose created a thread fairly recently. Give that one a once over.

I got the new ascend fs12T.
I'd recommend. $550. I like it a lot. Seat is quite comfy, I can stand and fish with ease

I have a 10 ft. sit in a buddy sold me for $100 with a paddle. He was upgrading...
Now I know why he was upgrading, and I have the mind to do the same. Go with the 12 foot ascend.
I am 6'1" 230 lbs. and I know I look ridiculous in my little yak. It still works, but I wish it was bigger and a sit on.

Same here, been out in it a couple times and enjoyed it so far.

Good advice.
Oh and Boatnhose, just checked out your old thread with pics. Sweet setup you got. I can't read the brand on the seat, is that what came with it or you upgraded? Haven't finished reading the whole topic so you probably already answered that.
