By Todd McShay earlier today on that great channel ESPN.

2 years removed from wide receiver.

Very similar measurables.

Very similar combine results.

If McShay is anywhere close to being correct (long shot I know) then I will be ecstatic.

The difference is physicality.

And it's a chasm that separates the two.

I honestly don't know enough about Jean-Baptiste to form an opinion other than he's a raw, big corner with great measurables.

Agreed. JB has the potential to get there but right now, he doesn't have it. That's something that's incredibly underrated with Sherman. He's a GREAT tackling CB where if you catch a ball underneath you're not getting another yard. I think it's the most overlooked attribute for a CB in the NFL and is one of the most important gifts a CB can have. JB is not a good tackling CB and certainly nowhere near Sherman's level.

Does he hold and mug the receiver like Sherman.

Being physical, that's bound to happen, but Sherman doesn't do this regularly. He's just a great CB.

ETA: Now his buddy, Earl Thomas III, plays like a bitch.

It's more than just measurables. Sherman said himself that he isn't as athletic as the others. He literally studies opponents formations, tendencies and patterns. There was a youtube (it got deleted) of him explaining his thought process and break down of games and plays.. he basically says he baits QBs to throw picks.
