what the frick they are doing? Is their guy one they knew they could get this late? Do they have several ranked around the same spot and were waiting for a run that never came? Are they getting Mallett? Do they have somebody already on their roster that O'Brien thinks he can work with? Very interesting.

FIFY.

But to answer the OP:

They got an absolute beast to compliment their best player on defense (and overall)

a big, physical OG to help transition the line from zone-blocking to man blocking

a tight end to replace the often injured Owen Daniels. We must remember what O'Brien likes to do offensively with TEs and Fidierowicz is a perfect fit.

Then a big bodied 3-4 NG to compliment their second best player on defense (Cushing).

The Texans are absolutely crushing this draft.

Do you want them to draft a QB just to draft a QB? Sounds like a crappy way to build a team.

Most of the Texans talented stars are relatively young (Watt, Swearinger, Cushing, Clowney, Sua-Filo, Nix Brown, Hopkins) and I think the Texans know that and that they are pretty much rebuilding. I think since this is the case they understand it's not going to happen in overnight/ in one year. It's a process. So why waste and force a pick on a QB you're not comfortable with now rather than grab talent in other areas and contribute to that process.

With that said I think they''re good with sticking with Fitz and Keenum for next year. I think they'll take a flyer late in this draft on a QB but mainly address that position in FA or the draft next off-season.

Murray, McCarron, and Mett are still undrafted. Chill those jets of them not getting a decent qb prospect yet.

Passing on the electrifying hometown heisman winner who plays at a position of need for a lazy defensive lineman isn't "crushing" anything.

Mett is a long term project at best

He will be a good back up in the league I think, but he does have the that prototype NFL QB size.

Hopkins has done nothing for me to warrant being labeled as a star

What? I'm assuming you meant Murray. The knock on Mett definitely isn't his size.

That's been the rumor - that they did a deal with New England to get Mallett. Not sure for what. Had hoped that was just a rumor, but with NE taking a QB and the Texans not, looks like it might happen. Not thrilled for the Texans...
