The Saints FO did exactly what they should have done...

If they don't trade up, they would not have got Cooks, Dennard, or Verrett. The only person they could have got at #27 was Lee and I'm so glad we passed on him (a WR in the first who can't catch with his hands).

Brilliant move to climb up and get an explosive playmaker who is desperately needed on offense. Put a 4 WR set (Colston, Morgan, Stills, & Cooks) with Graham and who are you going to cover. Could also use Cooks out of the backfield with some swing passes or screens.

The only thing that could have been better was trading back, but they probably didn't have any trade partners.

I'm pumped about this pick. Now we go get a CB and get the best C in the 4th, which will still be an upgrade from last year.

With what was available at our original pick... Yeah, trading up was a good call.

we did get BPA, just at the cost of the 3rd round pick. Great decision in hindsight
