Yeah not shocked, Sequester is back loaded on the big cuts so DoD can kill it, the big hits come in 15 and 16, and a lot of people will lose their job.

I don't think that invalidates the need for them. Sure, we can have "term limits" every electing cycle, right? Well we don't, because the sheep in this country give our Congress crooks their job back 90 percent of the time.
Just because OP would possibly follow through with "vote 'em all out", the vast majority opinion in this country is "They're all crooked except MY Congressman"...or "It's just the Democrats/Republicans who are crooked".

I can tell you exactly what happens when budgets get cut.
Agency X is told its budget will be reduced by 10%. Instead of eliminating the inefficient, unvaluable, and non-mission critical programs within agency X, the agency decides to swipe 10% from all programs across the board, thus making all of the programs even less effective, even the mission critical ones which need the funding.
The result is a less effective and efficient overall federal government than you started with.
Had agency X eliminated non-essential programs (which include federal positions), the necessary/mission critical programs would have the finding they need, and the agency would be more lean and efficient in achieving its mission.
The bugget cuts are the right asnwer. The problem is how they are being executed.

What the article demonstrates is that both parties inflate the truth for their political advantage,
Fear is used to move the populace to support their political persuasion

The American people are getting the government they want.
Every politician up for re-election can be replaced at each election and be 'term limited.' The voters apparently don't want this.
