This one was taken at Eagle Beach, just north of town. Looks like an angel.

Doesn't look real
Last couple of months we've had some of the best aurora activity since I've lived here. It's been unreal. Will only be viewable for another couple of weeks though until August, when it gets dark again.

Mid may til late August, it's not possible to see, which kind of sucks for tourists and other summer visitors.
Cruise ship passengers would need to come during the shoulder seasons to see them.

we were there visiting my FIL near Cooper Landing in July. We fell in love with Alaska and we will go back!

So beautiful. It's like seeing a foreign planet.

Awesome. Did you go to Seward for the 4th?

saw them once when I lived in Wisconsin, I was pretty young, but I remember it very vividly. They were light/skyblue and white kinda colored. Absolutely incredible. Definitely want to see them again before I die!

No, but we did make it to Seward for some seriously good fishing. Caught silvers, halibut and ling cod!

If you get the chance again, go to Seward on the 4th.

They've been visible as far South as N. Arkansas at least once the past couple of years. Probably just low on the horizon, but it's still pretty cool.
