I love a good war movie (even more so since I got surround sound) but my collection is admittedly lacking. It doesn't matter how old they are. TIA.

Mainly WWI and WWII, but some others mixed in:

Patton

The Longest Day

Twelve O'Clock High

Stalag 17

Bridge on the River Kwai

Midway (guilty pleasure)

A Bridge Too Far

The Boys in Company C

Platoon

Full Metal Jacket

Blackhawk Down

Lone Survivor

Saving Private Ryan

The Best Years of Our Lives

Apocalypse Now

When Trumpets Fade

Gettysburg (made for television)

Sands of Iwo Jima

Flags of our Fathers

Letters from Iwo Jima

Tora! Tora! Tora!

Casablanca

Judgment at Nuremberg

Downfall (German film)

Das Boot (German film)

The Lost Battalion

Gallipoli (1981 Australian film featuring a very young Mel Gibson - extremely underrated)

The Crossing

Glory

A Soldier's Story

Edited to add:

Kelly's Heroes

All Quiet on the Western Front

Band of Brothers (HBO)

The Pacific (HBO)

Downfall should be required viewing in high school.

Great flick.

Some of the best-
Saving Private Ryan
Apocalypse Now
Black hawk Down

Not quite a "war" movie, but Pacific Rim sounds amazing on a good DTS setup.

There are others, but I just wanted to bring attention to what I think is a hidden gem. It's kinda early Kubrick starring Kirk Douglas.

Well Patton is on right now and that's one of mine.

The Great Escape
Apocalypse Now
Full Metal Jacket
Lawrence of Arabia.

The rest I'd probably just go through AFI's top war movies.
