I suck at mechanic work, I'm always stripping something, but I've been told that changing your rotors and pads are pretty simple.

What am I looking for in rotors and pads? I want something with good braking performance. Are there certain brands or types of rotors and pads I should be looking for? Or is it all the same shite?

TIA

The factory made that decision for you already.

Rotors I wouldn't skimp on just because you don't want them to warp quickly. I'd find a good OEM supplier for those, but I don't know who makes good stuff for Nissan.

For pads, I like EBC or Hawk. Used those in various muscle cars I've owned and never had any issues.

I've bought EBC rotors as well. No complaints.

Changing pads is pretty easy. Rotors are a different animal, especially if they're pressed on.

You need to bring them to a shop and have them turned. They usually turn them while still on the car.

Shops don't like turning warped rotors. On my previous vehicles, I always went with Brembo blanks and ceramic AutoZone pads. You should be done for $200 right there

On my big truck, I have factory rotors and pads because they lasted 115,000 miles

Last time I had it at the shop they told me the front rotors were warped.

Ceramic for the brake pads. You won't get all that black gunk all over your wheels.

I was just quoted $230ish to get an inspection and change pads and turn rotors on my truck. Given the time I'd have to spend doing it myself and the price id pay for 8 pads and 4 rotors...decision was a no brainer. Gonna let the dealership handle it while I get some work done lol.
