paid $50 and it runs great (ignore the extension cord, just trying out in different places on the deck before we run power to it). Very retro-looking but it doesn't have the little bottle locking trays. can fit about 60 or so bottles inside standing up on a single level. Going to put a divider for 'adult' and 'kid' sides.

Bonus, there was a bunch of old coke caps in the drop tray for the opener. I'm going to try to find a way to incorporate them into this.

honestly it cost me more to fill this up than the actual machine. for the first go-round i bought all glass bottles. beer is much cheaper than soft drinks in glass bottles. who knew?

Does it use android or iOS?

Seriously though, that's pretty cool.

my dad had one of those at his work, that was always my favorite part of visitng his office...getting a ice cold coke and opening it on the machine.

Good find.

garage sale. we stopped by and started chatting with this older couple who were fussing about the fact their daughters are grown now and don't appreciate any of the cool stuff they want to give to them.

i basically said "like what?" and he brought me inside to show me and i told him that was the coolest thing i'd ever seen and we made a deal.

one day his daughters will probably regret not appreciating when their parents want to give them stuff.

A house my wife and I looked at was full of stuff like that. It was the cleanest, most well maintained house I'd ever been in, and there were hundreds of old Coca Cola knick knacks and machines. Freaked my wife out, but I wanted all of it.

I hate to point out the tripping hazard with the extension cord in that location due to the color of the deck, but clean that shite up.

yep. first we have to decide where we want it to live before we figure out the plug.

my father in law had an old coke machine from the 50s that he wanted to give me. Fully restored and in functioning order.

But how the frick am I supposed to get it across the country? Anyway, he ended up giving it away! apparently old coke machines don't have very much value.

I do want his 1920s slot machine, but that is also filled with silver nickels.

the wife..she's nuts about pallets. they're all over the backyard.

this is what happens when you give your wife a computer. they turn it into a giant electronic scrapbook.

Very cool. How did you determine the year?

I bought a "square top" machine (much less desirable than the ones with rounded tops) a few years back. It is a bottle machine, the type where you had the long door on one side that you opened and you could only see the tops of the bottles. You pay your money $0.35 and pull the bottle straight out. We are guessing, based on the prices, that the machine is early 70's?

It holds beer but in the summer I keep the bottom two rows with Orange drinks for the neighbor kids (I leave a can of money for them to use).

yep, same with old pianos. it seems the heavier the antique is...the less value it seems to have.

but yep, i'd love one of those old 'pull style' coke machines.
