According to State Police I10 west and eastbound is still closed.

I have to be in Lafayette for a lunch meeting

Guess I better leave BTR now!

Multiple fatalities in that wreck and a couple of truck/trailers on fire. It'll be shut down for a while.

One of the rigs that got hit in the trailer was hauling hazmat from what I heard. Just another daily reminder to slow the f down.

As a Daily traveler on the basin bridge,, I can tell you LSP has reduced it's presence over the last year and it shows. People aren't necessarily driving faster, but the big rigs sure don't travel the right lane as they're supposed to. Those sorry bAstards scrEw up traffic more than the speeders

They sure have, I don't see near the amount of troopers I once did.

Why is it so hard to set your cruise at 65? I do it every fricking day. I get stuck on that fricking bridge at least once a week because some dumb arse can't fricking drive.

I don't drive it daily, but I drive it often. This is one place I don't mind seeing the cops keeping the traffic slower...

OP needs to be more specific. BR Bridge isn't closed. Basin Bridge is. This is confusing.

I drive a rig for local grocery delivery - you'll never catch me going any faster than 5 mph BELOW the speed limits, especially on the basin and spillway bridges. Very few people actually doing near the speed limit with hands on the wheel, not on the phone. I've had a few close calls a already with some psychopath drivers and can't wait to get out from behind the wheel when I graduate a couple of years from now.

Yes, the local LEOs are up there but that's a money grab IMO. It seemed LSP was more intimidating to the motorists. Like I said, I don't see that many drivers going over 70-75. I don't think that's too wreckless. The big rigs swerving back in forth, making the drivers they cut off hit their brakes, are a bigger hazard than the speeders.

It seems like speeding wouldn't be advantageous in a big rig. I probably wouldn't speed if I drove one.

My father used to drive cross country and hated it.

Generally most company trucks are governed, meaning the can't go over 60/65. I've noticed most of the a-hole rig drivers are the billy badasses in dump trucks that are getting paid by the load, so they haul arse to get as many deliveries in that they can.

On 190 eastbound going to BR right now, and traffic is heavy and stacked up in Livonia. At a standstill at the moment.
