any one have any luck with making a complaint to the office of disciplinary counsel?
Made a complaint recently and the office responded saying they dont get involved in ongoing legal proceedings. This seems like a cop out to me.
Any suggestions?

I assume they take the matters seriously. They always use scare tactics at CLE's.

They discipline attorneys.

What't the situation? the OT needs to know.

Your case probably isn't important, sorry.

In my experience (another state), complaints may either be disregarded by the bar, or if plausible, forwarded to the attorney for response. Usually, if the attorney's response makes sense, that is the end of it.
There are a lot of terrible attorneys out there. Believe it or not, there are more terrible clients who can't accept reality.

two situations. two different attorneys.
i had success with first complaint, which there was clear defamation of opposing counsel to client. an investigation was opened But, I did the exact same format (letter with exhibits) with the second complaint, except it was harrassment, not defamation... and was told the office doesnt get involved with ongoing litigation.
both are involved in ongoing litigation, so i was confused by the letter.

Sounds like a fee dispute....

Vast majority of complaints are groundless and tossed in the trash. Like yours.

Which side does opposing represent?

I hate clients.

Practicing law would be easier without clients

Love hate. Mostly good ones now.

I think that applies especially to clients.
