Carney bringing the LOL once again...

quote:

In today's press briefing, Jay Carney was asked about the number of Obamacare premium payments that have been made. In other words, the total number of people actually, factually covered, not including window shoppers and unpaid accounts.

"We dispute their numbers. We don't have hard, concrete numbers, but we dispute them," the press secretary reasonably explained.

Carney says this is not data that is traditionally shared with government and emphasizes that the data is coming from "profit-making" companies. Chuck Todd was asking specifically about how many people included in the White House's own reported numbers as successful Obamacare enrollees - the number 8 million that is being touted and bragged about every day - aren't actually covered by insurance at this time, and whether that might change their success line by up to or in excess of one million people.

Carney's answer is that he doesn't know, but also no. They don't have the answer, but they dispute the answer anyone else might have. That's like having your cake and denying it, too.

How can they not have numbers? I don't understand this. I realize he is lying, but how can anybody accept that as an answer?

Its double speak.. They can have the good numbers the moment they need them, but it takes them weeks or months to get bad numbers.

Its hilarious

I mean, I understand if they are having to rely on surveys or something, but there are actual records of who has paid their premium. Its in a database. Saying you don't have them is like saying you don't even account for them

It's just so sad.

Not exactly. The numbers are in the databases of the individual insurance companies people have policies with. No payment is made to the government (except the fine to the IRS for non-payment, but that's not what we are talking about here).

With that said, I don't believe for a second that they aren't getting regular updates on enrollment, payments, ect. They have the numbers on how many have paid and those numbers are somewhere between shite and shinola, otherwise they would be bragging about them like an OT baller.

If I couldn't provide "hard, concrete numbers" to my employer regarding where we stand with accounts receivable at my place of business, I'd be out of a job.

Exactly... They could easily say "Ok, X number of people signed up by March 1st, their first payment was due by April 1st, and X number paid.

It understandable that there may be people who signed up and haven't received their first bill yet, but you can still get an official gauge of what the trend is looking like.

I don't normally like to use the "are you stupid or are you lying" loaded question, but it's application seems appropriate in this situation.

They were certain 7M people signed up for the program before the deadline, but now have no idea what the numbers truly are.

Thank you to every single one of the 59M idiots consuming oxygen in this country that helped create this epic disaster of a government.

And for him to pull out the bullshite "Those numbers are between insurers and the insured, it is a private transaction... This isn't govt healthcare" is completely laughable.

But they are so good with numbers. I remember they were even able to compute the number of "jobs saved" by the stimulus. I marveled at that computation. Finding the number of people who have actually paid Obamacare premiums oughta be a piece of cake for these guys.
