I just got word on the 247board that Allen ended up at Zona. Is he big enough to be a 3-3-5 stack DE?

No, I don't believe. But just because 3-3-5 is their base set, doesn't mean that's all they will run.

He'll see some action for sure

That is their base and entire defensive scheme.

It's not true. I don't know where you are getting those articles or who you heard that from.

I could see them trying him out there. But, I don't think it will yield the results they want. I'd keep him on the outside and possibly let him play a bit of OLB 3-3-5 scheme.

He is bigger than most of Arizona's DL. True story.

I'm spoiled and don't realize it watching SEC players.

They have been really small but I figured that was due to changing schemes and using what they got. I would've thought three years in they would go with what they were using at WVU getting a kid like NOEL.

FWIW, My sister graduated high school with him and is still friends with him at lsu. Supposedly he did something to his knee lifting weights and wasn't going to be cleared to play at LSU this year.

Arizona was really small for PAC - 12 standards. They are unusually small.

Their defensive system is designed to give smaller, less athletic players a chance to succeed. They use deception to disguise their look, and come at you from everywhere.

Wisconsin is going the same route. Their new DC, Dave Aranda, used that system to perfection at Utah State. USU’s defense ranked in the top 25 in yards-per-game and rushing yards allowed, and ranked in the top 10 in touchdowns allowed and points-per-game.
