The Knicks are reportedly finalizing a deal to hire Steve Kerr as their head coach after the first round of the playoffs. According to Marc Stein of ESPN, "The New York Knicks are trying to complete a deal with TNT’s Steve Kerr that would install him as their new coach after the first round of the playoffs, according to sources with knowledge of the talks…". Phil Jackson has been deliberate with his hiring process thus far, but it looks like the Knicks have their man and that Jackson's former player will soon be his current coach.

What's the boards take on Kerr as HC anyway? An untested rookie coach to hop in the NYC limelight? Couldn't be much worse than Woodson.
According to his wikipedia,
Not too shabby for coming off the bench your whole career.
According to his wikipedia,
quote:
He played 910 regular season games but started only 30, 20 of them in the 1991–92 season. His career totals are: 5,437 points (6 ppg), 1,060 rebounds (1.2 rpg), and 1,658 assists (1.8 apg)
Not too shabby for coming off the bench your whole career.

Better hire Kim Anderson at Mizzou or Steven Kerr?
