Will the Cardinals break out of their rut, or do we have more concerning issues?

Need craig to start hitting, if he gets back to his career numbers that will help a ton.

Read an article on ESPN that points out our lack of power being a huge issue. They can't count on "clutch hitting"like they did last year, and they did nothing to replace Beltran.

Agreed with the rest of your post, but nothing was really needed to be done to replace Beltran

We had Matt Adams riding pine when he was ready to play. Couldn't fit Beltran/Adams/Craig in the lineup.

Beltran gone Craig and Adams are both starting, Adams has been our best hitter so far this season, but Craig hasn't been anywhere near his norms.

Adams' RISP is like .125 right now. He's pretty much been a singles hitter. I mean, who in the lineup can you count on for power? You'd think Holliday, but he's never been consistent in that area. He's got a wild swing that's all about line drives.

The Cards will absolutely break out. Guys will steer back to their historical averages. They'll hit for more power as the weather gets warmer. Also... take a look at how many home games they've played thus far compared to most of the league.

Can't expect to hit .368 with RISP every year when the league average is always much lower. I think that was highest any team has hit with RISP over last 60 years or so.

Yeah the team hasn't been built on power for years though. They have been playing base to base for a while.

They have guys that can obviously go deep, but that's not where they will win most of their games.

Call up Taveras, slot him in 2-hole, move Bourjos permanently to the bench.

I'm waiting for Boujos to hit .275 with 15+ homers and a ton of extra base hits like Sleeping Tiger said he would....

Only last as long as they aren't getting tested for that juice.

I expect us to break out too, but the team just doesn't look good right now.

Who the Cards?

Craig is struggling
Peralta is struggling
Holiday is struggling
Molina is playing above his head
M. Adams, Jay, Carpentar are playing how you would expect....

Cards just don't have the luck they did last year when they hit .368 with RISP...

Peralta/Holiday may be finally showing age as well as Holiday is 34 and Peralta turns 32 next month. Plus many PEDS users have come back from suspension and actually performed worse than the previous years

I'm worried Taveras may end up being a bust

Plus my friend who plays for the Redbirds says that Taveras is a pussy, certainly not what you want to hear....

Must be talking defensively because .225/.276/.268 isn't a bright spot
