Dean, who played at LSU from 2007-10, was one of the all-time best hitters in Fighting Tiger history, finishing No. 2 on the school career total bases list (575), No. 2 on the all-time LSU RBI list (260), No. 2 in career hits (332), No. 3 in career doubles (63), No. 4 in home runs (56) and No. 5 in runs scored (223).

Personally I loved Dean... I also loved watching Walker, Furniss, Cresse, and others... but where does Dean rank among all of LSU baseball players?

McDonald/Walker seem to be #1 on any list

You don't get many like him to stay for 4 years. He and Katz were a special pair. Definitely deserves to be on any all-time list.

Not in my top 10, but I'd say top 20 for sure.

If you're talking pure numbers, he's prob top 5. But a lot of that has to do with being a 4 year starter.

If you're talking overall talent+numbers, it pushes him down the list a little.

Are we talking all players of just hitters? Because if it's all players he might not make the top 10.

It does. He's all over the all-time lists.

Seemed like he was always able to come up with the clutch hit when we needed a run and we had a runner in scoring position.

A contractor came to my house couple of weeks ago and said Blake Dean was his son. Does anybody know if this could be true? Also said another son of his was on the team now.
