funny, not even an hour ago I was intending to come here and post the same question...

looks like a hell of a good system, but I want to hear first hand experiences as to whether it works well and holds up to regular use...

I love mine, have chainsaw, weed eater, hedger, and weed eater with saw blade attachment on it. Have had it for about seven years, absolutely love mine!

Had mine for 3 years. Tons of use. No issues other than a bad gasket (ethanol) on the gas tank cap. K&D replaced for free. If you plan on doing a ton of weedeating it is a pretty heavy unit.

I bought the higher end power head, blower, and string trimmer late last summer. Spent around $600 for them. My intent is to eventually get the articulating hedge trimmer to use on the 200' row of ligustrums in the backyard. It's a 4 stroke but you still have to mix fuel so that's my only disappointment so far.

4 stroke but mix fuel? Im not following.... why do you mix if its a 4 stroke?

I love a Stihl saw, I have 2 of them, but I would never even consider the combo system. I learned a long time ago to buy the correct tool for the job, not something that tries to do all and ends up doing nothing well. Just my opinion for my uses...small farm, and deer camp mainly plus home use.

4-stroke cycle but runs on 2-stroke mix.

Kombi system is great, just make sure you get the upgraded edging attachment (straight) instead of the curved one if you have a lot of edging to do. Curved version likes to eat bearings and/or strip out the flex shaft.

I've assembled all the attachments for an old commercial Ryobi over many years. Great for homeowner use, and stands up to limbing up roads at the camp.

Hedge clippers are serious whackers. Can't speak for the Stihl blower attachment, but it looks promising.

Just don't get the tiller attachment... it'll break you like a jackhammer.

My dad has the KM-130 and all of the attachments; Straigh shaft edger, straight shaft trimmer, 135* hedge trimmer, blower, pole saw, and carbon fiber extension. It does all of those jobs just as well as the specific units it replaces because it's the same exact power head and the same exact attachments the only difference is that instead of a solid shaft it has two smaller ones connected with a coupler. The only tools that are different as a stand alone unit are the HT 101 & 131 because of the telescoping shafts they use. Simply put- to say that he shouldn't get the kombi system because it won't do the job as well as the different specific tools is flat out wrong.

I have it. Fantastic. Especially the hedge trimmer. That sucker is scary if you are moving from one of the small electrics.

For anyone not doing commercial work, the kombi is fine. Hell, I've sold a few to commercial guys that use them daily and they have no issues.

Same thing I have. The 130 is a hoss. The 90 is good enough for most people. That's what I would have bought if I didn't get the 130 for the price of the 90

Worth it, Yes -I just bought a KM90 power head and attachments recently this year - 90 is plenty for what I need.

It works great. I use it around my house and deer camp.

Right now I just have the weed eater and pole saw... I'm torn between the edger, hedge trimmer, and pole saw extension as my next addition.

Eta: It's the KM90.

I weed eat the edges, and I can borrow my brother in law's power cord hedge trimmer for now. I only have one 12 ft set of box hedges...

Yeah, my situation is different. I am guessing I have 100' of ligustrums(sp?) and 60' of red tips.

That's calls for a gas powered trimmer.
