I'm making Monkey Gland Steaks tonight.

This dish does not actually have Monkey Glands in it...the name is sort of a joke.

It is a tenderized beafsteak in a sauce that includes onions, tomato, ketchup, steak sauce, Worchestersire sauce, and mustard.

Here's some photos of this dish I found on the internet.

The dish is popular in South Africa where they think of it as an American dish.

This sounds terrible, but accurate. Terribly accurate.

It sounds like the sauce my mom used to make for liver & onions, which smelled good, but was disgusting. Maybe it was the liver though; I've never been a fan.

It's not that different from a grillade or a steak etouffee. Everybody I know that has tried this dish likes it.
