Who do you expect to have more fantasy value THIS season? I'm thinking Polanco since he's tearing it up in Triple A at the moment and is playing exclusively at RF. Baez is just getting off the DL so I think his call-up will be coming later in the year. Thoughts?

If you need power MI, then it's Baez.

Polanco should score more runs, steal more bases and have a higher AVG/OBP.

I think I'd rather have Polanco. Baez will hit for power but his k-rate concerns me.

I think Baez. Unless Castro and Bonifacio stay hot, he'll be an immediate everyday starter at the top of their lineup. Polanco will probably have to fight for playing time with McCutchen, Marte, Snider, and Tabata out there.

Still don't think we're going to see Polanco for a while.

While I agree that they haven't been outstanding, they're two young serviceable players with experience. It's a tough decision to turn to a 21 year old when you're in the playoff hunt. Just think Baez will get a longer leash, that's all.

SS is so thin. If Baez gets the call and you don't have a good SS then you get that upgrade. Power is scarce in general, especially at SS. He goes up there hacking and will strike out, that is already of given.

Polanco can step in and contribute as well, but fantasy teams are more likely to have a decent OF already. Polanco is solid all around but I don't think he will have the immediate power impact that Baez will. I also don't think he will be a steals guy at the MLB level and I think PIT will probably hit him down in the lineup to start, limiting his run producing potential.

I'd have to go with the guy who's more likely to be called up... which is Polanco. They'll probably slide him right in the 2 hole and let him loose. Marte(RH), Polanco(LH), and Cutch(RH) should occupy the top the the lineup and he should have a chance to put up solid counting stats across the board.

Polanco is playing RF if he gets called up. That's what he's playing in Triple A right now, not CF

RH = right handed
RF = right field

Think about it for a little bit.

Cutch plays CF, not taking his position
Marte plays LF, not taking his position.

He's played RF all season in triple A, go look it up. He'll play RF for the Pirates and occasionally some LF

Do you not understand that he's going to play right field and hit second in the order? Behind Marte -- who bats right handed -- and in front of McCutchen -- who bats right handed

Or are you with CecilShitHisPants and think Jose Tabata and Travis Snider are going to steal at bats from him?
