Game of Thrones Season 2 discussion (spoilers)

So I finished up season 2. I get why they don't have major battles every episode, and I am glad they blew their wads on the Kings Landing battle. That was an awesome episode. What a great battle scene. No CGI (sans fleet blowing up) or stupid video game looking crap, just good old fashioned men running at each other with swords and armor. I actually laughed out loud when Tyrion whacked that dude's leg off with his axe.

Speaking of Tyrion, I am actually feeling sorry for him. I guess a lot of stuff happened in the past that made Tyrion a black sheep (besides the dwarf thing), but he is the best Lannister next to Tywin. Jaime and Cersei are fricking sadistic monsters. Cersei more so than Jaime, he's just opportunistic. Tyrion seems to get all the crap though while Cersei can do no wrong. Bitch. And surely the dad knows something about her fricking the entire family by now, but how dare Tyrion frick a whore.

I have just about lost all respect for the Starks except for Arya. The redhead is in la la land. Robb is a dumbass who is going to risk the north falling for a piece (although a very hot piece) of tail. And don't even get me started on that stupid count Lady Stark. frick her with a morning star. How can someone who is so amazing at negotiations be so stupid at everything else? I wonder if she realizes or accepts that she started all of this shite when she kidnapped Tyrion in that tavern?

And that bastard is just as dumb as the rest of the Starks. Keep your nose out of the sicko's business. Oh I think I'll follow him. No I'll kill her, or fall in love, or let her escape, oh you got captured looking for me, my bad. He sucks now too.

And I guess Theon will have a point somewhere along the line. I don't know if it is Martin's ignorance or if we are really supposed to believe that an entire kingdom would be left so defenseless that a band of 20 pillagers could take the castle, hold it for a couple of weeks, massacre the populace of the keep and then haul arse. Like there isn't some sort of Town Watch or national guard roster that couldn't be called up and overtake 20 men? Not buying it.

Honestly if it weren't for Joffrey and Cersei being such psychotic monsters, I would probably be rooting for the Lannisters. Not sure if the writers intended this, but I find myself squarely in the Targaryen corner. I can't wait for Khaleesi to show up with her dragons and burn all those frickers to the ground. Damn she's hot.

I've decided I'm going to do what I did with Harry Potter and even Twilight, read the books. I can't wait for seasons 4-6 to come around.

ETA: BTW, does anyone know if I can by the books with an Itunes card and read them on my Ipad? I've got a bunch of Itunes cards I've never used.
