As in short episodes where you feel dizzy or off balance?

I had that exact feeling this morning. I blame it on the tequila vodka and red wind last night.

Yes and no. One form can involve particulate debris within the inner ear.

Vertigo isn't just a feeling of dizziness or lightheadedness though.

No, you don't.

The shite isn't fun. Imagine turning over in bed at night and then waking up feeling insanely dizzy with the room spinning and you likely vomiting.

Or turning your head to look at something and the same thing happening.

shite ain't pretty. It's treatment also isn't 100% successful.

Yes actually, I was in a near fatal car wreck 3 years ago on I-10 near LaPlace headed back to BR. I walked away without a scratch although I should probably be dead and ever since then I get vertigo crossing the spillway.

I have had it for a few years sporadically. What is weird is that the last two weeks have been bad as ever. It's crystals in your ear. Google BPPV (positional vertigo).

Gets bad at night when turned on my side
Being horizontal isn't comfortable
Bending over or turning head quickly sucks
It pretty much sucks

Stay upright and active to keep it in control

Had an inner ear infection a few years ago and had bad vertigo. Worst week and a half of my life. Couldn't' drive, go to school, even think straight.

Lots of causes

But maybe this one you should investigate :

quote:

Excessive consumption of ethanol (alcoholic beverages) can also cause symptoms of vertigo.

Seriously, though, if it persists you should see your doctor. It is a possible indicator of a heart or arterial problem.

I was sitting across the table from a partner at our firm when it hit him. His lost control of his arms and was pushing stuff across the desk towards me. Just kept repeating my name like he was trying to tell me something, but he wasn't focused on me. I ran around the desk and caught him as he was falling. He was sweating profusely.

Had to call an ambulance. It was freaky. He told me was vomiting a good bit at home and was barely able to fly home.

Try having them for years and get back to me. If I don't take my meds at exactly 12hr intervals, I get vertigo. I have learned to work with it though

I've had it a few times before and it sucks. Can't walk straight. Getting out of bed is very difficult because you can't get balanced and fall over easily. Had it in Vegas and took a lot of effort to not walk into things. Lasted two days and went away. Never lasts more than a few days.

You can literally lay in bed like a statue and your eyes aren't moving and you'll still feel dizzy as frick and the room is spinning on you.

That shite sucks.

My dad had episodes of vertigo and was diagnosed with Ménière's disease. It sucks.
