'Undocumented workers'
Note that employers are the only villains, not the people who break the laws and sneak into the US.
Also note that the same people who effectively preach that certain morals should not be forced on others are making a moral argument in the statement.

Not this time! The White House officially responded to a petition that asked for Justin Bieber's deportation on Friday, April 18, ultimately siding with the 20-year-old entertainer.
"Sorry to disappoint, but we won't be commenting on this one," the statement read. "We'll leave it to others to comment on Mr. Bieber's case, but we’re glad you care about immigration issues. Because our current system is broken. Too many employers game the system by hiring undocumented workers, and 11 million people are living in the shadows."
"Not only is it the right thing to do morally, it's the right thing for our country: Independent economists say immigration reform will grow our economy and shrink our deficits by almost $1 trillion in the next 20 years,"

Why is it that celebs in Hollywierd get treated in a totally different manner than everybody else in the nation by the judicial system? Throw his little bitch arse out with no regrets except but his own grief and sadness. Take a look at the poor souls in California given the over the top cleaned up hands treatment for examples, stealing isn't really stealing it's borrowing out there.

Seriously? That is the US Govts official response to the petition?
I cant even come up with a post to express my thoughts

So the WH is trying to tell us that 11 million immigrants will bing in enough tax dollars to not only cover themselves but also reduce the deficit by a trillion dollars over the next 20 years. WE CAN"T DO THAT CURRENTLY WITH EXISTING AMERICAN CITIZENS.
Are these immigrants counted as "rich" or something?

Our government now views tax paying citizens as the enemy.
Posted on 4/19/14 at 8:11 pm to weagle99
The only villians here are the politicians who enact the programs that allow immigrants to receive benefits.

For 11 million people to reduce the deficit by 1 trillion each person would have to put in 90k without receiving a penny in benefits.

Is there one member of the media out there that can just ask one simple question concerning this......
"How?"

Seems legit.

Although re-reading it it seems to say that the 90k is broken in 20 years so it will be 4.5k per year but that would be with the current spending levels with no increase.

And there's the rub.

When Harry Reid called the folks supporting Bundy "Domestic Terrorists", he also said, "We are a country of laws, we follow those laws!" Hey Harry, does that apply to the immigration laws? I guess not, it doesn't benefit him...
I really hate all those bastards in Washington, they are a bunch of fricking idiots!

OK. I'm not a fan of amnesty and I think it's a bad plan.
That said, I'll play devil's advocate for a moment.
The reality is, due to our birth rate shifts from the baby boom to the baby bust, we have a serious demographic issue in our nation that will only get worse in the next 3-5 decades. Much of our entitlement system was structured to function with working age population:retirement age population to be more in line with what it was 40 years ago. But, we stopped having babies.
Now, one solution of course would be to deal with that reality in an actuarial fashion.
OK. Now that I'm done laughing at that politically impossible idea, the only other solution is to expand our working age population what pays IN to that system.
To quote from Cool Hand Luke...."I don't like it any more than you do".

I'll play devil's advocate on this. If there is only X amount of jobs out there why would older people working longer have any affect when newly graduated young people are sitting at home with no job? I thought most young people, graduates or not, want older people retiring to open up the job market somewhat? Maybe I'm missing something.

1)Retired people are NON-producers and they represent a higher percentage of people than in decades past(will only get worse as lifespans increase
2)Working age people are also BY FAR larger net consumers which of course, drives demand which of course, can drive a need for more production....etc etc.
Japan actually experienced a similar problem to what we are experiencing back in the late 80s and haven't ever really recovered. When their population was relatively young, their govt made TONS of commitments to their older citizens and then little F'ers promptly stopped having babies. Eventually, that demographic reality caused two things.
1)The govt to no longer to be able to keep pace which.....
2)Caused the govt to bleed the private sector to the point that it couldn't produce jobs as before.
It's sort of a death spiral.

A death spiral the US will not recover from. It's too late.

Quite frankly if people didn't employ illegal immigrants there wouldn't be a reason for them to come here...the jobs draw them. The illegal immigrants are just people looking for a job/yob, they're not villains.

Federal income taxes are still held out of my retirement check. Not sure if that is being non productive unless I don't understand your definition. I thought the government was all about not caring who pays their fair shares to keep the government running just as long as the money keeps rolling in.
FWIW, here in Ark. no state taxes are held out of retirement checks, at least not mine. Is that the case in other states? I did read an article this morning that said Ark. was the fifth cheapest place in the US to live concerning taxes.
