So does Luther take a back seat to Robert a lot of the time, or do they both have equal amounts of lead time? I would think that Luther would have to take more of a backseat based just on the fact of Robert playing a pedal steel.

They both shred. Watch the video, theres lots of them out there as well. Luther seems to be egoless though, he has no issues with "taking a backseat" to anyone.

definitely. that they assembled a "sacred steel" band obviously put RR in the spotlight, but i dont think it really takes away from luther.

Go see them. I saw them quite a bit back in the day and saw them again at Wanee and Bonaroo in recent years. Still throw down!
