I grabbed this a few days ago with VERY low expectations. Hasn't left my player since. I think it's on par with Deal-era Pixies stuff. Probably my favorite album of the year right now.

The songs I've heard so far make it sound like another one of Frank's solo records.

Yeah, almost all of these songs are previously released. It's not horrible, but it's not good either. And to compare it to the Pixies' peak... I can't even engage.
I'm happy they made lots of money that they should've made back in the 80s. I'm glad they got that moment where they could play to packed houses and bask in the fans' adulation. That's really cool for them.
But the Pixies are now a nostalgia act designed to take money from Gen X'ers trying to recapture our childhood (yeah, I went to a reunion show, too).

I realize it's just the 3 EP's, basically. I just really like it. Welp, different strokes.
