I watched this clip of an appearance on the Dick Cavett show.She seemed like such a cool chick. Amazing how much times have changed. He lights her cig for her.

I can see why people like her, but I think her voice is too frickin grating and every time Mercedes Benz comes on Sirius XM I change it. Hate that song.

My dad saw her at the Sorrento Pop Festival back in the 60s, good times

great talent, unique voice saw her a a couple of pop festivals late 60's

Saw her at the Prairieville Pop Festival. She was amazing. So much passion in her voice. I know she was raspy but she tuly sang from the heart. And she had a bottle of Southern Comfort on stage with her the whole show.

And boogied with some guy she pulled up on the stage from the audience.
Lot of groups played that festival. Canned Heat, Iron Butterfly, It's A Beautiful Day, Santana, Country Joe and the Fish, The Youngbloods that I can remember. Seems like maybe the Spiral Staircase and Chicago(Transit Authority) and a few I just can't remember.
