How much are we missing Russell Reynolds & Hunter Newman this season?

Seems like one of those would have been a lock for the rotation this year and given us a pretty good starting rotation and not the current black hole of a 3rd starter we keep trying to find.
Really unfortunate neither could play for us this season.

Lock is a strong word

people thought Glenn would be viable after last year. Really doesn't mean much. Kurt McCune was all world after his FR year

The better question is how much are we missing Mason Katz, Raph Rhymes, and last year's Jared Foster and Christian Ibarra.

Yeah I don't know how I forgot about him.
Eta: note how I left out Jacoby Jones. This time last year, he was hangin out with Mendoza.

This is almost where he turned it around. His second half was close to .400. I'd love to see 3 or 4 of this year's guys do that. Hell, just 1 would be nice.
I know some of us knew Stevenson would hit above .300, but who really thought he'd be one of the three consistent hitters basically carrying the team at this point?

Cody Glenn was the Sunday starter last year, and a "lock" this year. Only he wasn't. Two years ago McCunn was the Friday starter. I guess he was a lock last year and this year.
Just saw Lester made the same point up above.

Who we miss is LaMarche - so stupid to leave when he could have been in the rotation

You don't think he could be a major contributor this year?

That has nothing to do with his decision being stupid

Of course it does. He should have known he could really help this team.
