What kind of small game are you trying to trap?

I had a book when I was a kid and tried all this mess to see if I could catch a rabbit.... Never did. But I was also 9-10 yrs old in a neightborhood wood lot.

We would bend over saplings and dig a hole. stick in hole, slip knot over stick tied to sapling. Good luck.

rabbit, squirrels, etc.

I'm thinking along the lines of how can I trap and kill game in an extended survival scenario if, say, I had ran out of gun ammo/shotgun shells?

snares are easy and effective

just put them in a trail and wait. you can choke the trail off to force them through your snare with twigs and shite if you need to. They are kind of idiot proof.

You may want to clean all the grease off of them and spray them with a flat spray paint to get the shine off of them.

Tons of websites and forums out there that deal specifically with this.

This is the OB, come back and post when you have 8 squirrels and a limit of rabbits.

Eta.... squirrel snares are easy to set and have a decent success rate. Have done.

Thank you. I love to eat squirrel and I imagine in a survival scenario that I'd do my best to capture and kill them for food.
