GOP Rep. Howard “Buck” McKeon, the Republican chair of the House Armed Services Committee, says he’s satisfied with how the US military – and ergo the Obama administration – responded to the deadly attack on the US consulate in Benghazi, Libya that killed four Americans, including the US ambassador to Libya. The news also exonerates expected Democratic presidential nominee, and then-Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton....

“I think I’ve pretty well been satisfied that given where the troops were, how quickly the thing all happened and how quickly it dissipated, we probably couldn’t have done more than we did,” McKeon said to reporters today, as quoted by AP.

Wow... an objective Republican. Who woulda thunk it.

Sounds more like basic common sense to me. Now how exactly does this "exonerate" these 2 pieces of shite from the complete failure to respond to the attack and their out-right deception for political purposes?

The cover-up video blame, and Clinton telling those families...all those lies about the video, will still haunt this administration and Hilliary. Its not the incompetence , but the lies I have a problem with...

Yet the "article" you posted from a left-wing blog states this:

quote:

In fact, the Obama administration’s statement, that the attacks weren’t necessarily terrorism, but may have been simply an angry mob gone wrong, provoked in part by an anti-Muslim/anti-Mohammed video that was posted on YouTube, were backed up by a further investigation from the NYT.

Talk about having your head in the sand.

So you praise a rep with an unethical and troubled history. Nothing new

Yeah, the New York Times is a credible check and balance against a Democratic administration.

This phrase was added by the left-wing shill who wrote the article.

The people I know who are furious about Benghazi are furious about the cover-up and politicization of the event, not so much the lack of response.

Fwiw.

This little leftist goober who wrote the blog article you quote, what did he have to say about Dubya waiting 7 minutes before responding to 9/11?

Exactly, my main issue with Benghazi is the lies and cover up from the administration.

Sorry I cannot take seriously an adult who uses the word "ain't" and resorts to ad odium arguments when he's up against a wall.

Sure there was. Susan Rice lied her arse off because a planned attack by Al-Qaeda flew in the face of the administration's party line about Al Qaeda being on the run. Plus it was an election year, with the election just around the corner. So they went with this fabricated fantasy about a video causing the attack. They placed the blame on a familiar boogey-man: conservative Christians.

Republicans in general, no, but I don't know anybody who thinks Darrell Issa is doing a good job with that committee.

Yeah, that's why you refrained *ahem* from calling Obama and Clinton "pieces of shite", right?

You're absurd. I'm laughing at your distaste for this latest development... Theater of the absurd.

No, she didn't. She went with the best info she had at the time.

And that's precisely behind your need to paint Susan Rice a liar, but it doesn't make it so.

Failure of character in our purported leaders is an important aspect of judging the quality their job performance. A moron troll on a message board need not be given the same length of stick.
