The entire sport in a nutshell

Man(or woman) goes up to ball
Takes practice swing(s)
Hits ball
Repeats the cycle until the ball goes in the hole
Occasionaly the ball goes into water which is funny
The cycle is repeated by the hundreds of contestants
If it is a Par 4 hole, and all 100 contestants hit even, and there are 18 holes
THE CYCLE IS REPEATED 28800 TIMES!?!?!
Just curious as to why anyone would want to watch it, maybe it's just me...? Anyone agree?

Question:

Do you watch NASCAR?

ETA:

Actually just list all of the sports you watch so we can inevitably point out how relatively repetitive they are.

its not like they show all 28880 shots on TV. geez. you could say the same about lots of sports. if it ain't your thang, it looks pointless. I can't stand basketball but lots of people like it.

But see, sports like football have the same goal, but there are thousands of plays one could run in order to gain these goals. I mean, you could say that you hit the ball differently and account for the wind and all but it all comes down to the same thing, hitting a ball.

The drama and intriguing player competition is what draws me unfortunately, it's been lacking a lot with the down fall of tiger.

I actually don't have any issues with your critique of it. But, like most other sports, it helps if you play the game. When you understand the difficulty of what they are doing, it is pretty mesmerizing to watch. Also, like the argument for Nascar, I think anyone could enjoy going to a tournament just walking around the course. I also think attending the Masters could make anyone an avid golf fan.

Yes.

Do you have any harder questions? That one was too easy

But going to a tournament and watching it on tv are two totally different things.
I also feel the same way about baseball, which is even slower than golf, but I went to a Twins game a year ago and I had a lot of fun.

It all comes down to whether or not it's entertaining on tv

For most people on here, it appears that it is. It is one of the few events the whole MSB seems to get behind every year. The only complaint is that they don't show enough of the tournament.

In football, the goal of the game is to stand, sit, or lay in a rectangular patch of grass on one end of the field while holding a ball. Do that as many times as you can.

If men wearing matching outfits stand in the rectangle more times than men with different color outfits, then those guys win.

There are thousands of ways to approach a shot in golf.

You need to have an appreciation for how hard it is to hit the ball high or low, curving right or left. All you see is a guy hitting a ball, but you have no clue what is actually going on.

I find golf very entertaining, but I know what I'm looking at.

Yeah, but I'm sure I'm not the only one that would rather see almost all of it. I don't really care about the argument that the Masters has the ability to do what they want because they have so much money; it doesn't change the fact that it would be nice to have full coverage on starting from the beginning of the tournament.

I'm not a huge golf fan, but sometimes the creative shots these guys take are amazing.

the masters is all about not watering down the coverage or tournament

the field is extremely prestigious, the amount of players making the cut is fewer than other tournaments, and they only show the leaders live, which i find quite refreshing

not counting online coverage, the entire portion of the network coverage is captivating

if they decided to add any coverage, it should be on thursday or friday......the weekend coverage shows you everything you really need to see
