Yea...but he doens't have any noticable splits for advantage against righties or lefties.

Sorry to be debbie downer but i don't think this has any significance as to them seeing more time against righties.

This was a designed start for the two against a RHP. Has nothing to do with their performance last night either.

With their performances last night, if they have a good game against a RHP it will definitely have an impact on their PAs against RHP in the short term to say the least.

I dont' think it changes how RR will play platoons with lake and olt when there is a ntoicable difference in the pitchers splits.

I guess what i'm saying is the converse is true. If they have a terrible game today, and days like today, it doesn't change the way RR uses the platoon.

He doesn't have the noticeable splits yet, I agree. But that doesn't mean that Cole isn't a good pitcher and this is a decent challenge.

Point taken, and noted in the record.

Yeah but you gotta get the best offense on the field everyday and if those 2 prove they can hit, they need to be in the lineup regardless of splits. I don't think this platoon is his vision for the whole season. He just wants to get a feel for who can do what.

I think cole is a very good pitcher. I'm happy they're in there today. I'm frustrated by the platoon and just keeping myself from getting too excited about olt playing against a righty becuase i just don't see this being a sign that RR is going to play him more. I really think he'll be a strict numbers guy. Which is ok, because i do want to win games. but i want my cookies.

I think we all want to win games, but at this point in the rebuild what's more important to me is seeing the investment in the moves in the farm system paying dividends. Improvement. Learning.
