BLM Nevada Dispute - Environmentalists hypocrites. Endangered Turtles Position

Read this quote from just one of the many breaking articles about the BLM/Bundy Family cattle dispute
So, according to our eco crazy government, endangered turtles is the reason cattle cannot graze on government owned Nevada land.
What a crock of shite! Can you believe that?!!!
So, the environmentalists won't allow cattle to graze on government property because their grazing will eliminate food for endangered turtles?
Yet, there are reports that the government is killing the Bundy Family's cattle.
A few endangered turtles have more right to live on 70 percent of government owned Nevada land than cattle?
We all know this isn't about what's good for the environment. This is about government control, plain and simple.
quote:
“It’s high time for the BLM to do its job and give the [endangered desert] tortoises and the Gold Butte area the protection they need and are legally entitled to,” senior Center for Biological Diversity scientist Rob Mrowka told the Mesquite Local News. “As the tortoises emerge from their winter sleep, they are finding their much-needed food consumed by cattle.”

I know. This isn't about what's been mentioned in that thread.
This is about the laughably retarded desert turtle stance.

Tortoises don't eat that much. Just throw out some food for them and they will be super happy.

I know nothing of this case but these things seem clear:
1. There is an Endangered Species Act that provides guidance on these things
2. This is Federal land where this guidance must apply
3. Them tortoises is endangered
I don't know why anyone would be surprised by this.

So shoot and kill the cattle to save a few turtles, right? Sounds like a very pro-eco nut solution.

Perhaps cow flatulence is the real culprit here?

I was not aware of this. I agree with your assessment. I do believe that by law the cattle should probably be removed, however. bullshite if they just shot folks' cattle though.
