The Pelicans were within one point late in the game when Williams decided to keep the team's two-highest scorers of the game on the bench. The gambit failed to pay off as New Orleans didn't score a point in the final 2:18 of the game

"I have nothing to complain about with our group. We held that team to 94 points. We couldn't score in the first and third quarter, but we scrapped and played the way we like to play. Just couldn't put the ball in the basket enough times."

It's shocking how often this strategy fails. Stiemsma actually wasn't terrible this game, but we definitely saw too much Aminu.

What's shocking is the he's still the coach. And what's further depressing is that he's probably gonna be the coach next year, and we fans will be subjected to his stubbornness again next year.

I mean, Withey was playing really well yesterday. He still isn't a great defender, but his length still made Dragic and Bledsoe a little hesitant on drives which Stiemer couldn't do even if he were 10 foot tall.

Withey did look good challenging in the paint and scoring. I also noticed him hustling down court which I know is something Monty has said he needs to improve on. But Stiemsma had 8 rebounds while Withey had 2. If Withey could rebound he'd be our future starter for sure.
