I agree with Joy at #1. Tips is also high up there, nostalgia or not.

Interested to see what the Saenger will be like.

And if that Republic show a few years ago is any indication this is gonna be an awesome show

For overall sound and viewing areas the Joy takes the cake.

how does joy compare to the size of Varsity?
I don't care for the republic, if your not inside the wooden pillars, you cant hear or see.

I am not sure in terms of specific numbers, but the Derek Trucks show at the Joy in October was sold out and you could freely move around the floor.

Upstairs is traditional seating.

Andre, can you give an in-depth break down of the venue and area? I've never heard of it before.

The venue is upper Canal, CBD side about 5 blocks from to I-10E.

I'm going to check this out based on MBers' recs. Their Bonnaroo show was kind of boring. I hope it is better live. Classixx seems pretty fun too.

I love the Joy. I think it is my favorite venue out of Nola and Br.
