The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals are abandoning plans to turn serial killer and cannibal Jeffrey Dahmer’s childhood home in Ohio into a vegan restaurant.
“We regret that we won’t be able to move forward with this project, even though it was met with some enthusiasm as well as some derisive comments,” said PETA spokeswoman Moira Colley in an email, the Sydney Morning Herald reported. “[G]etting zoning for a restaurant on this site is apparently impossible, in part because of issues with the plumbing and waste systems.”
PETA President Ingrid Newkirk sent a letter Friday asking about the property to the real estate agent who listed the Bath Township house for sale.
The real estate agent, Richard Lubinski of Stouffer Realty, chalked the proposal up to being nothing but a publicity stunt.
“I had to take it seriously,” he told the Herald. But, he said, “with PETA’s history of these stunts … it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to put two-and-two together.”

Mr. Lubinski mentioned the time PETA said in 2012 that it wanted to turn the Florida home of O.J. Simpson into a “Meat is Murder Museum.”
In 1992, Dahmer was convicted of the rape, murder and dismemberment of 17 men and boys. The three-bedroom house at 4480 W. Bath Road is where the madman killed the first of his victims.
The home is zoned for single-family residential use and is listed at $295,000

So they couldn't get a commercial permit in a high income residential neighborhood in the suburbs of Akron? Shocking.

Obvious move to get people to write about PETA. Kardashianesque.

I think PETA dropped the plan because the house costs an arm and a leg...
(yeah I know, I used this joke in the similar thread a few days ago)
