Westmorland Public Safety spokesman Dan Stevens confirmed that 20 students were injured in today’s stabbing at Franklin Regional High School. Four of those victims were sent by Life Flight to area hospitals.

Stevens said the stabbings apparently took place in several classrooms and hallways over about a half hour before police were able to arrest the suspect. Local police were able to muster more officers than normal because police were in the process of a shift change.

Why don't you put the state in the title? Thought it was a La school.

No, but I expected someone to say this within the first few posts. The OT never lets me down.

how do you stab 20 people in a crowded school without ANYONE stopping you?

In all truthfullness, this episode will likely be used for political purposes by some, and that's a shame.

I carry a pocket knife (swiss army knife) with me most of the time. I find it extremely handy. I am finding more and more that knives are being prohibited from more and more places. I worry that these events will only exacerbate that trend.

So please, for freedom's sake, don't go spouting, "ban knives", because people will (and ARE) taking you seriously.

That's what I'm wondering too...it's not like a gun where you can harm people without taking a step.

Seems like someone with a knife would be able to be dealt with by as little as a few people.

So a kid is running roughshod over this high school on a stabbing spree and not a adult can stop him? And why did it take the cops 30 minutes to get there to stop him?

Wonder how long it will take some lib/progressive blogger to point to this attack and say it's an example of gun control working.
