I really wish they would explore the darker side of frank castle and really develope the punisher character.

The one with Ray Stevenson was darker and it sucked harder than the Thomas Jane version.

I liked the one after Thomas Jane. It's not an oscar caliber flick but it was fun...in a bat shite crazy sorta way.

God I love that clip. Haven't seen it in awhile. Thanks for the repost.

I agree. Jane's felt more like a "Punisher" movie vs Stevensons which was a more generic action flick.

I will never understand why no network has optioned Punisher for a tv series yet. Or why didn't Marvel announce him along with those others in the Netflix series coming up.

I love the Thomas Jane on and loathe the Stevenson one. I have read no comics and have no idea which would be closer to the source. I'm merely taking entertainment value and what I like.

I guess I am on an island with preferring the Ray Stevenson one. I guess the Thomas Jane one felt more like a comic book movie but War Zone was way mor fun. Plus I didn't like Travolta at all.

I can't disagree with you on the Travolta thing. He was a terrible villain and that was what really ruined the first movie.

I think Jane was a far superior Punisher and I wish they would have him play the character again. It just needs a better story.

Read the Punisher: Max series by Garth Ennis.

He absolutely nails it and it's a beautiful series.

The Jane version of Punisher was BADASS! It was a very entertaining movie!

Punisher is owned by Marvel Studios now. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see the character resurface in one of the Netflix series as a hero AND a villain.

If the Netflix Daredevil series does well, I think Disney/Marvel will then develop Punisher into a Netflix series. Daredevil and Punisher should both work in the Netflix format because, while they are interesting characters, they do not have the wide-appeal necessary to launch movie franchises, nor do they fit into the larger Avengers-led Marvel/Disney universe.
