Why didn't the Left target Obama when he was against gay marriage?

The Mozilla brouhaha has me wondering about this.
Anybody?
Anybody?

Even when he was "against" gay marriage, he was still advocating for equal rights, correct? If I remember correctly, he said that the marriage part was difficult for religious types, as well as for the African American community.

Historic first black President. Liberals say with a straight face that he was always for it in his perfect historically first black President heart,--- but just couldn't say it out loud because of all those evil homophobic racist Republicans----with no cognitive dissonance whatsoever. Liberalism requires this kind of dishonesty.

Because he was the Bringer of Light.

I am as anti-gay as one can be, but one's sexuality has zero business in politics, IMO.

Because he was always in the tank for the gay activist. The gay lobby donated money to him. He said he was against it at the time for political convenience. Once it was politically OK to change his mind, he did.

Also, is the ex-CEO of Mozilla opposed to gay rights (other than his opposition to gay marriage)? In other words, how do his views and Obama's former views on gay rights differ?

Cause lefties know he would have said anything to beat those evil right-wingers. Ends justify the means, always.

don't you remember?
Toddy said it was because everyone "knew" he was just hiding it to stop those evil republicans from attacking him.

Well, I don't support what happened to Eich, but to be fair he DID donate money to a cause that was used to deny equal rights and oppress gay families in California. Obama NEVER would have done that. You're really comparing apples to oranges.

I'm guessing he still keeps his job.

same reason they blast the "religious right" while never passing up a speech in black churches

“I am a fierce supporter of domestic-partnership and civil-union laws. I am not a supporter of gay marriage as it has been thrown about, primarily just as a strategic issue. I think that marriage, in the minds of a lot of voters, has a religious connotation. I know that’s true in the African-American community, for example. And if you asked people, ‘should gay and lesbian people have the same rights to transfer property, and visit hospitals, and et cetera,’ they would say, ‘absolutely.’ And then if you talk about, ‘should they get married?’, then suddenly…” - Feb. 2, 2004

You can't be serious. The absolute lies told in the Prop 8 ads should give everyone pause.

Because he also opposed Constitutional amendments banning it, including Prop 8?

Toddy, let's not play games. By answering "you can't be serious," you're just admitting you don't have an answer. If you want to say you misspoke, I can accept that. I've done it before too. Many times.
Now, as to the "lies" part, you didn't say anything about lies, nor was I responding to any statement about lies. There were plenty of lies on both sides of the Prop 8 issue. You wouldn't know since you don't live here in California, but I do and I know it and saw it first hand.
However, back to the point. You said that Eich gave money to "a cause that was used to deny equal rights and oppress gay families in California." That's a quote.
I'm asking you how Prop 8 oppressed gay families? I get the "deny equal rights" part. Prop 8 sought to change the California state constitution to define marriage as between a man and a woman. That was Obama's conviction at the time, I might add.
But how were gay families oppressed?
