Stumbled across some pictures and got to thinking...

What do you think the largest catfish in the Mississippi River is?

They've been known to grow to some extreme sizes around the world.

110 lbs.

124 lbs.

646 lbs. Mekong

Why is it that very dam has the old story of divers inspecting the dam, and they prop on a big rock the size of a VW Bug, but it turns out that the rock was a catfish?

I heard stories that there are some as big as cars near the docks.

But I heard those stories around the same time I heard about the Satanists on Frenchtown Road, and that guy who gave his girlfriend some Spanish fly. Said girlfriend got so horny she died while pleasuring herself on the gearshift of his car when he went into 7-11 for a pack of smokes and a 6-pack.

So, you know, grain of salt and all...

So, moral of the story, rubbing too often may lead to unsafe conditions?

Catfish are nasty when they get too big. Taste like mud after some point.

Some guys that used to work for me would grab them by hand out of large holes around the levy on Bundicks lake and they would regularly get 40 pounders. I tasted one once and that was some nasty shite compared to good farm rasied catfish.

They do except for the Opelousas cat. They are the best tasting catfish no matter how big they get.

I heard stories from an old underwater welder who was connecting a pipeline from Exxon Baton Rouge to their tanks in port Allen. Dude said he looked up and saw a catfish the size of a Volkswagen bug staring at him.
