24 - Rewatch - Spoilers Abound

I loved 24 when it came out.
Then each subsequent season, my love dropped a bit.
Evil Plot, not the real plot, even more fiendish evil plot. Ha. Fooled you again, even more fiendish evil plot with the help of the 33rd CTU Mole.
The final straw was the tiny group of untrained African terrorist taking the White House. I stopped watching at that point.
I've been so desperate for something to watch, I've been watching full seasons of sitcoms which is slowly turning my brain to mush. It ends now.
So I am rewatching ALL of 24. I will push through the ridiculous capture of the White House so I can watch some never before seen episodes of 24.
I'll post a season long recap when I finish each season.

My favorite seasons were 4 and 5.
I hated the first two seasons because I really hate Kim Bauer. I don't think I have to say any more than that.

I can't reiterate this enough.
I HATE Kim Bauer. I was always hoping that Jack would do the right thing and allow her to die for the sake of the country.
For me, the show never really took off until season 3, and seasons 4 and 5 were the best.
But, goddamn, I HATE Kim F'in Bauer.

Live Another Day looks REALLY good. The decision to cut it down to 12 episodes will pay off. No time/room for ridiculous subplots.

Just hit the worst part of season 1.
Hysterical amnesia and Kim stalked by a mountain lion after inexplicably surviving he car explosion.
Oh and if I remember correctly Kim is also about to run into a crazy survivalist.
The kids are the downfall of season 1. Kim sucks and Young Palmer is a drag on the show.

but seriously I had one major gripe about season 1. I fricking hate Teri Bauer I cheered like the saints won the superbowl when ***spoiler alert*** nina killed that bitch

It might be. I just thought she ran into it after the car fell into the canyon.
Kim is far worse than Terri. Pretty much everything Kim does is the 100% opposite of rational behavior.

Good. Not sure I could take those plots so soon and still end up liking Season 1 in the rewatch.

Just finished season 1.
In later seasons, I will grow to hate the mole plots but Nina's plot was executed perfectly.
The weakest part of season 1 is the damn kids. The Palmer kids plot sucked and Kim Bauer sucked.
How many people died because she wanted to hang out at a furniture store with a bunch of losers?
That was also a pretty weak plot point on the Drazen side of the equation. They had no idea she would be able to sneak out that night and pretty weak to rely on her sneaking out when everything had to go down within 24 hours.
The bad guys seemed to have about 38 different hit groups already in town yet the relied on Gaines and his cast of bumbling stumbling hillbillies to do their dirty work.
Overall, I enjoyed the rewatch of season 1. Would have been better if it wasn't 24 hours. Plot dragged a bit too much.
