He has a letter to the editor in today's Advocate.

He conveniently leaves out of his letter that BREC has a stash of over $81 million currently sitting in its bank accounts.

BREC has more in its bank accounts than it spent in all of 2013.

BREC's 2013 Annual Report

Please vote today. Kip needs the money.

But...but...but....but...

Parks and libraries and education and public transportation and arts and tourist attractions and puppies and kittens are all good things, so we should always vote to pass every tax dedicated to those things, shouldn't we?

That's what I've been taught by our leaders and media. Do you mean there's something else we're missing? (Like millions already squandered and millions more in the bank? - impossible!)

I reuse to vote or any tax increases while he is still mayor. He has put far too many on ballots during his tenure and the only one that made any sense was for bridge and road repairs in the region, but it covered a shite load of other crap in the proposal. BREC has its slush fund and the "library" board is spending 19 million to build a new downtown branch rather than renovating the present facility and that is on the heels of the 150 million on the new facility off Goodwood.

Is there any chance at all that this tax will not get renewed?

I think it will pass by 2 to 1.

Unfortunately BREC, Kip and all the other politicians will view it as a confirmation that we like paying more taxes than the agencies actually need.

I just voted a few minutes ago....around 10:30. At my precinct I was the 21st person to sign the voter sign in sheet. Polls opened at 7 AM.

That tells me fewer than 10,000 people will even vote today. Just the BREC and other local government employees could carry the election.

I'm going to stop and vote on my way out to the spring game. Doubt it will do any good, but at least it will make me feel better.

When I walked in to vote all the election folks quit talking and stared like I was the first person to show all day. I did see a little old lady pull up when I was leaving.

No problem. That's why I support places for Angry Right Wingers who feel powerless to vent.

Stay peaceful my friend.

I haven't been following all this. Is this just for BREC funding or does the Kipper want to do his downtown plans again with a zoo and whatnot?

Why do you hate the outdoors?
When will the racist Republican War on outdoor activities end?

People love BREC parks. They don't know or care about surpluses, they just want the neighborhood park to stay clean and safe.
