I say true. This dude has talent off of the charts. He is a talent. I think he will be the starter against Wisconsin and I think we will have an exciting offense. Thoughts?

When was the last time a true freshman started for any SEC football team at QB and that team was a contender for the SEC or National title?

I think he will show off his cannon and have a TD or so but throw a couple of picks as well.

AJ is the starter

I don't recall stating that LSU will compete for the SEC or Nat'l Title next year. ? I do think that Brandon Harris will be the QB, however, and I think we will have a good offense.

yeah even manziel and winston both sat a year

pretty tall task.. but I'm all for Harris if he truly can distance himself.

the thing with LSU is they can win regardless of qb play.. add in great QB talent and they can go places.

True enough. However, do you really think they would not have been good had they played from their true freshman seasons? I think being redshirted probably helped a lot, but they would have moved the ball regardless.

False. Remember that beautiful pass Jennings threw in last year's spring game, he's gonna throw a few of those in this one and everybody will hop back on the AJ train.

Yet that is the standard for this team. If Harris starts and LSU is not in contention for the SECw headed into the Bama game, then 75% of this board will be calling for AJ to be the starter and wondering why in the hell is was not the starter all along.

In essence, you end up ruining Harris, mentally, right out of the gate.

The coaches are not going to put him in that position.

You think they are going to name a starter after the spring game?

False! If it was up to the rant LSU would start all true freshman every year. Every year everyone falls in love with a recruiting class and claims they should all start. By the time they are sophomores they all should be benched for the next recruiting class.

They are not throwing him into the Colosseum. These guys have been playing football their whole lives, they want to play football, they go to lsu to play football, What's the big deal? It reminds me of when LSU had Trindon Holliday and people would always say he didn't get that many touches because he was small and the coaches didn't want him to get hurt. So much bullshite, these guys are there to play football no? If they are the best player, let them play, period.

False. Jennings is going to start, and Rettig will be the #2. No need at all to throw a true freshman in there. RS him, create some separation between he and Jennings/Rettig.

You should ask this question to Jarrett Lee.

Maybe Lee was never going to be anything special. None of us really know. But being thrown into the fire when he CLEARLY wasn't ready couldn't have helped.

Good gawd!!!! No one, regardless of their stats tomorrow, will be named the starter against UW.
I hope they both light it up and Cam and CLM have a real head scratcher trying to figure out who will start. Can't have enough depth!!

Barring injury or any other possible issues, Jennings will take that first snap against Wisconsin.
