Yep. Pretty good permeation smells like. I'm not sure whether to leave the windows down when I get home or leave em up

Don't worry, the smell won't linger on a vehicle. I've greased plenty-a-polecat in my truck. Smell is gone by about 70 miles.

I'm home now. Approx 30' radius of skunkdom around the truck. Heaviest concentration toward the front right. Leaving windows up. Hoping for the best

I said this one time while my boss was riding with me and he didn't know wtf I was talking about. Is polecat a regional term? He was from Chalmette.

I've always thought the same thing but apparently some Louisiana residents do not know what it means.

I have never heard this term before.

I googled, ready the whole wikipedia intro before reading the line

In the U.S., the term polecat is sometimes applied to skunks, but these are only distantly related to the European polecat.

Why can't we just call a skunk a skunk?

A polecat isn't a skunk.

One of the most annoying incorrect names people use for things.

We always called them polecats just because that's what my powpow called em. I use both names now. A buddy of mine loves the smell of polecat.
